Vineyards
Donzella 2019 is crafted exclusively from Xarel·lo grapes grown in Cellers de Can Suriol’s certified organic vineyards within Penedès, where the 30 hectares are divided into over 25 micro-plots. Located in clay-limestone soils and benefiting from a Mediterranean climate, these vineyards foster complex, expressive wines. Managed with sustainable and biodynamic principles, the Suriol family’s approach ensures each micro-plot brings a unique character to their wines.
Winemaking
Following a traditional approach, Donzella 2019 undergoes long lees aging with regular bâtonnage, enhancing its texture and depth. This process is completed in underground cement tanks, which naturally stabilize the temperature. The result is a fresh, aromatic white wine that retains the purity of Xarel·lo’s varietal characteristics.
Appearance
Pale yellow with a bright, clear hue, indicating its freshness and minerality.
Nose
Intense aromas of orchard fruits and citrus with notes of fresh pastries, derived from its extended lees contact, create a layered and aromatic profile.
Palate
The palate is broad and creamy, showcasing flavours of ripe apple, pear, and a hint of almond. Its vibrant acidity balances the wine, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.

Cellers de Can Suriol, with a winemaking tradition dating back to 1624, is now managed by the 14th generation of the Suriol family.
