After acquiring an ancestral family vineyard that had existed for hundreds of years, Quinta da Boa Esperança was established by Artur Gama and his wife Eva in 2014. Their 11 hectares of organic vineyards lie in the heart of Zibreira, within the renowned Lisbon Wine Region. Benefiting from proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and Montejunto Ridge, the vineyards enjoy high elevation, ample sun exposure, and maritime influences, cultivating exceptional grapes of both local and international varietals, including Fernão Pires, Arinto, Sauvignon Blanc, Alvarinho, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet.

Dedicated to sustainability, the Gama family adheres to organic principles, extending their eco-friendly practices to growing their own vegetables, fruit, herbs, and breeding chickens in their kitchen garden. This holistic approach ensures a harmonious coexistence with nature, reflected in their meticulous vineyard care, minimal intervention, and manual harvesting, resulting in wines that truly express the essence of their land.

Citrus coloured wine, mineral, with intense aroma of fresh tropical fruit. Intense, fruity and fresh, with a very pleasant and persistent finish.

Quinta da Boa Esperança Colheita Branco 2021
Grapes: 50% Fernão Pires, 50% Arinto

Vineyards:
The organic vineyards of Quinta da Boa Esperança are located north of Lisbon, at a higher altitude near the historic fishing town of Ericeira, which is also known as a world-class surfing destination. This geographical location benefits the vineyards with both maritime and altitude influences, contributing to the freshness and balance of the wines produced there

Winemaking:

The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted into 15 kg cases before gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures to preserve the freshness and aromatic qualities of the varietals. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 4 months in the bottle, allowing it to develop further complexity.

Sight:
Citrus in colour, with pale green highlights that reflect the wine’s freshness and vibrant character.

Nose:
The nose is intense and fruit-forward, offering fresh tropical fruit aromas like pineapple and passionfruit, combined with a subtle minerality, characteristic of the terroir.

Palate:
On the palate, the wine is lively and refreshing, with crisp acidity that balances the fruit's intensity. The finish is persistent and pleasant, making it a great choice for warm-weather sipping or light meals.

Food Match:
This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, fresh salads, or light poultry dishes. Its freshness and mineral backbone make it versatile for various cuisines.
