Background story
Baron de Sigognac is a historic Armagnac house owned by the Guasch family, who have been based in Gascony since the 12th century. Situated on 42 hectares of prime Bas-Armagnac terroir near Eauze, the estate has focused exclusively on Armagnac production since 1980. They cultivate traditional grape varieties—Baco and Ugni Blanc—perfectly suited to the region’s tawny-sandy soils and unique microclimate.
Distillation is performed using a rare in-house copper alembic still dating back to 1921, with the resulting eau-de-vie aged in hand-crafted French oak barrels. The estate's cellars house an extraordinary collection of vintage Armagnacs, with bottlings dating back to 1830. Each vintage is aged and bottled independently, ensuring every release is a true reflection of its year of distillation. Baron de Sigognac is revered for its craftsmanship and purity, producing Armagnacs that are celebrated by connoisseurs worldwide.
