Vineyards
Sourced from Sileni’s cooler vineyard sites in Hawke’s Bay, this Pinot Noir benefits from a mix of gravel and clay soils. The inland vineyards provide aromatic structure and depth, while the coastal areas add roundness and savoury tones, enhanced by a cooling ocean influence. These distinct microclimates give the wine its layered character, balancing vibrant fruit with complexity.
Winemaking
This wine undergoes fermentation in closed-top stainless steel tanks with gentle maceration techniques, including pump-overs and rummage. To enhance aromatics, cultured yeasts are used, and malolactic fermentation is conducted alongside primary fermentation. A small portion of oak is used, enriching the palate without overpowering the fruit, before bottling early to retain its lively character.
