Château Baulos-Charmes is located in Pessac-Léognan, nestled between two classified Graves vineyards in Bordeaux. The estate traces its heritage back to 1792 with the Baulos family, Bordeaux wine merchants who lent the château its name. Sean Matthys-Meynard, a dedicated viticulturist, leads the vineyard management with respect for Bordeaux traditions and a focus on environmentally friendly practices. His approach emphasises achieving perfect grape maturity for wines that are both elegant and expressive.

Winemaking

Adhering to Bordeaux’s traditional methods, the 2014 vintage reflects the château’s commitment to quality. Careful attention in the vineyard and at harvest produces a balanced Bordeaux blend that celebrates the nuanced terroir of Pessac-Léognan. Aging in carefully selected oak enhances the wine’s structure and refinement.

Appearance

A deep ruby red, reflecting its maturity and depth, with vibrant clarity.

Nose

Enticing aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and subtle earthy notes, complemented by hints of tobacco and graphite, characteristic of classic Pessac-Léognan wines.

Palate

Smooth and well-structured, with flavours of ripe dark fruit, balanced by fine tannins and a touch of minerality. The finish is lengthy, displaying finesse and a refined complexity.
