Vineyards and winemaking

Faìve is a vintage Brut Rosé made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown in Friuli. The name comes from the Venetian word for the sparks that rise from a fire, an apt image for a wine created to combine vivid colour, freshness and an energetic stream of bubbles.

A short, cool contact between the juice and skins draws out its delicate rose hue. The first fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by a second fermentation in pressurised tanks. This preserves the red-fruit perfume while giving the wine its persistent mousse and lightly tannic shape.

Tasting notes

Appearance

Soft rose-petal pink, with a fine and persistent bead.

Nose

Wild strawberry, redcurrant and raspberry are framed by rose, cool stone and a gentle herbal lift.

Palate

Dry and fresh, with lively red berry fruit, subtle tannic grip and creamy bubbles. The 2018 now shows a more savoury, composed edge alongside its fruit, finishing cleanly with floral and mineral detail. Mature sparkling bottles can vary; serve chilled and open with care.

Food pairing

Try with vitello tonnato, mushroom arancini, charcuterie, baked aubergine Parmigiana or salmon fishcakes. Its dry fruit and discreet structure also suit roast chicken served cold with a mustardy salad.

Background story

Faìve stands apart in the Nino Franco range: it is not a Glera-based Prosecco, but a rosé sparkling wine built from two red varieties and sourced from Friuli. The cuvée shows the family’s curiosity beyond the steep hills of its Valdobbiadene home.

Nino Franco was founded in 1919 and is best known for helping establish the international reputation of serious Valdobbiadene Prosecco. Faìve applies the same focus on clarity and pleasure to a distinctive, food-friendly rosé.
