After acquiring an ancestral family vineyard that had existed for hundreds of years, Quinta da Boa Esperança was established by Artur Gama and his wife Eva in 2014. Their 11 hectares of organic vineyards lie in the heart of Zibreira, within the renowned Lisbon Wine Region. Benefiting from proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and Montejunto Ridge, the vineyards enjoy high elevation, ample sun exposure, and maritime influences, cultivating exceptional grapes of both local and international varietals, including Fernão Pires, Arinto, Sauvignon Blanc, Alvarinho, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet.

Dedicated to sustainability, the Gama family adheres to organic principles, extending their eco-friendly practices to growing their own vegetables, fruit, herbs, and breeding chickens in their kitchen garden. This holistic approach ensures a harmonious coexistence with nature, reflected in their meticulous vineyard care, minimal intervention, and manual harvesting, resulting in wines that truly express the essence of their land.

Quinta da Boa Esperança Arinto 2020
Grapes: 100% Arinto

Vineyards:
The organic vineyards of Quinta da Boa Esperança are located north of Lisbon, at a higher altitude near the historic fishing town of Ericeira, which is also known as a world-class surfing destination. This geographical location benefits the vineyards with both maritime and altitude influences, contributing to the freshness and balance of the wines produced there

Winemaking:

After manual harvesting, the wine is fermented at controlled temperatures to preserve the bright and aromatic characteristics typical of the Arinto grape.

Sight:
A citrus colour with pale reflections, showcasing its vibrancy.

Nose:
The nose is elegant and mineral-driven, typical of Arinto, with slight tropical nuances such as hints of pineapple and lime.

Palate:
On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with a crisp acidity balanced by fruit flavours and a long, persistent finish. The mineral backbone enhances the wine’s overall structure, making it a refreshing yet complex white.

Food Match:
Perfect with seafood dishes, grilled fish, or lighter fare such as salads and goat cheese. Its fresh acidity also makes it an ideal aperitif.
