After acquiring an ancestral family vineyard that had existed for hundreds of years, Quinta da Boa Esperança was established by Artur Gama and his wife Eva in 2014. Their 11 hectares of organic vineyards lie in the heart of Zibreira, within the renowned Lisbon Wine Region. Benefiting from proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and Montejunto Ridge, the vineyards enjoy high elevation, ample sun exposure, and maritime influences, cultivating exceptional grapes of both local and international varietals, including Fernão Pires, Arinto, Sauvignon Blanc, Alvarinho, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet.

Dedicated to sustainability, the Gama family adheres to organic principles, extending their eco-friendly practices to growing their own vegetables, fruit, herbs, and breeding chickens in their kitchen garden. This holistic approach ensures a harmonious coexistence with nature, reflected in their meticulous vineyard care, minimal intervention, and manual harvesting, resulting in wines that truly express the essence of their land.

Quinta da Boa Esperança Fernão Pires 2018
Grapes: 100% Fernão Pires

Winemaking:
This wine is crafted exclusively from the Fernão Pires grape, a traditional variety in the Lisbon region, known for its aromatic intensity. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before undergoing fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged for four months in the bottle, allowing it to develop further complexity while preserving its fresh, fruit-driven profile.

Sight:
A bright citrus colour with pale reflections, highlighting its vibrant freshness.

Nose:
The nose is intense and aromatic, offering fresh tropical fruit notes like pineapple and passionfruit, complemented by floral nuances typical of the Fernão Pires variety.

Palate:
On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a crisp acidity that enhances its fruity character. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a refreshing, mineral touch that adds complexity and balance.

Food Match:
Perfect with seafood, grilled fish, and salads, this Fernão Pires also pairs well with light poultry dishes and goat cheese.
