Vineyards
The vineyards of Château Gairoird are situated in the heart of Provence, just outside Cuers, benefiting from a warm Mediterranean climate and cooling sea breezes. The estate has been farmed organically for over 15 years, with certification ensuring sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. The soils, rich in limestone and clay, provide excellent drainage, while the vines, which are primarily old bush-trained Grenache and Cinsault, deliver grapes with concentration and finesse.
Winemaking
Château Gairoird Rosé is made from a traditional Provençal blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The grapes are hand-harvested during the early morning to retain freshness. After gentle pressing, the juice is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the delicate aromas and freshness of the fruit. No malolactic fermentation is carried out, ensuring crisp acidity. The wine rests on fine lees for a short period to enhance texture and complexity before bottling.
Appearance
Pale salmon pink with brilliant reflections, characteristic of classic Provençal rosé.
Nose
Elegant and fresh, offering enticing aromas of wild strawberries, white peach, and citrus peel, with subtle floral undertones and a hint of Mediterranean herbs.
Palate
Crisp and refreshing on the palate, with flavours of red berries, ripe citrus, and a touch of stone fruit. The wine's vibrant acidity is beautifully balanced by a smooth texture, leading to a clean, mineral-driven finish with lingering notes of pink grapefruit.
Food pairing
This rosé is a perfect match for summer salads, grilled seafood, and Provençal dishes such as ratatouille or bouillabaisse. It also pairs wonderfully with light pasta dishes and charcuterie.
