Vineyards and winemaking
This rosado comes from La Lobera, Real Agrado's broad estate vineyard planted in 1992 on poor, stony ground rich in rounded river pebbles. Garnacha accounts for 75% of the blend and Viura 25%, bringing together fragrant red fruit and white-grape freshness.
The 2023 was made by the saignée method, with free-run juice spending around four hours in contact with the skins before cool fermentation. This brief extraction gives a delicate colour and supple fruit without heaviness. The wine is certified suitable for vegans.
Tasting notes
Appearance
Delicate pale pink, clean and luminous.
Nose
Fresh strawberry and watermelon are brightened by pomegranate, orange blossom and a twist of citrus peel.
Palate
Soft at first, then crisp and refreshing, with red berry and melon flavours carried by lively acidity. Viura sharpens the generous Garnacha fruit, leaving a clean, dry and lightly floral finish.
Food pairing
Ideal with a picnic spread, smoked salmon sandwiches, tomato and burrata salad, grilled prawns, or a cold chicken and tarragon plate. It also works well with lightly spiced couscous and roasted vegetables.
Background story
La Lobera is Real Agrado's largest vineyard and contains the estate's broadest mix of grape varieties. Its stone-covered surface reflects light into the canopy and the poor soils encourage the vines to produce concentrated, characterful fruit.
The classic rosado is conceived for freshness and easy enjoyment, but remains rooted in the same estate-grown philosophy as Real Agrado's rarer single-vineyard wines. Garnacha supplies perfume and generosity, with Viura adding brightness and precision.
