Vineyards

Villa Saletta Rosé IGT 2021 is produced from the estate's vineyards in Tuscany, spanning 5 hectares of clay and marine deposit soils. The estate, with a history of winemaking dating back to 980 AD, was revitalised in 2000 by Guy and Julia Hands. The vineyards benefit from an ideal climate and terroir, enabling the cultivation of premium grape varieties, including Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaking

The grapes were carefully hand-selected and de-stemmed before undergoing a brief, low-temperature skin contact period of 8 to 12 hours. This process enhances the aromatic profile while maintaining the wine’s vibrant colour. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16°C, preserving freshness and balance. The wine was aged for six months, with 75% in stainless steel tanks and 25% in bottles, to refine its structure before release.

Appearance

Bright cherry hue with brilliant clarity.

Nose

Matured yet expressive, revealing delicate aromas of dried red berries, subtle citrus peel, and a hint of floral notes. Mineral undertones persist, reflecting the wine’s evolution. Expressive and fresh, revealing aromas of ripe red berries, minerals, and subtle floral notes.

Palate

Softened with time, the palate presents rounded red berry flavours with a touch of dried herbs and citrus zest. The acidity has mellowed, contributing to a smoother texture, while mineral notes add depth to a lingering, elegant finish. Smooth and lively, featuring a dynamic balance of fruitiness, freshness, and acidity. Red berry flavours dominate, complemented by mineral undertones and a crisp, refreshing finish.

Food pairing

Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with light seafood dishes, summer salads, and soft cheeses. Best served chilled between 8-10°C.
