Origin and production
Chivas Regal 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky composed from carefully selected malt and grain whiskies, each matured for at least 12 years. Strathisla single malt sits at the heart of the blend, interwoven with Strathclyde grain whisky to create the rounded texture and consistency for which the house is known.
Long maturation in oak allows the individual whiskies to develop before they are brought together by the blending team. The result balances ripe orchard fruit and floral heather with honeyed sweetness, creamy malt and gentle cask spice, retaining richness without losing its accessible, polished character.

Appearance
Clear golden amber, with warm honeyed highlights.
Nose
Open and inviting, with crisp apple, pear and wild heather over honey, vanilla and a quiet suggestion of dried fruit. Soft herbal and floral notes keep the sweetness in balance.
Palate
Round and creamy, bringing together orchard fruit, hazelnut, butterscotch and vanilla. A gentle thread of oak spice adds definition before a rich, smooth and lingering finish.
Serving suggestions
Enjoy neat, with a few drops of water or over a large cube of ice. Its generous fruit also works particularly well in a classic whisky highball with chilled soda, or in an Old Fashioned with restrained sweetness and orange peel.
Background story
James and John Chivas began building their reputation in 19th-century Scotland, selecting and blending whiskies to achieve a smoother, more harmonious style. That pursuit of balance became the foundation of Chivas Regal and helped establish the house as one of the best-known names in blended Scotch.
The 12 Year Old remains the signature introduction to the Chivas range. Its combination of Strathisla’s malt character and the silkier contribution of grain whisky demonstrates the blender’s craft: creating depth and continuity from many mature components while allowing no single element to dominate.
