Background story
Baron de Sigognac is a historic Armagnac house owned by the Guasch family, whose presence in Gascony dates back to the 12th century. Situated on 42 hectares of prime Bas-Armagnac terroir near Eauze, the estate has been exclusively dedicated to Armagnac production since 1980. They cultivate traditional grape varieties—Baco and Ugni Blanc—ideally suited to the region's tawny-sandy soils and unique microclimate.
The distillation process is carried out using a rare in-house copper alembic still from 1921. The freshly distilled eau-de-vie is aged in hand-crafted French oak barrels and stored in medieval cellars, allowing the Armagnac to develop remarkable depth and character. Baron de Sigognac's collection includes vintages dating back to 1830, each offering a genuine reflection of Gascony's rich winemaking heritage.
