Vineyards
Domaine de Grange Neuve is situated in Pomport, near Bergerac in the Périgord region of Southwest France. The vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate near the Dordogne River, ideal for producing botrytised wines. The 25-year-old vines thrive on the valley slopes, developing a rich sweetness and complexity as a result of noble rot. This distinct terroir produces Monbazillac wines with vibrant acidity and intense flavours.
Winemaking
The 2020 vintage consists of a blend of 80% Sémillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Muscadelle. Grapes are hand-harvested in late autumn in successive passes to ensure optimal ripeness and the highest-quality botrytis. After gentle pressing, the juice undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, preserving the wine’s natural fruit character. The wine is then aged for 24 months, with 75% in stainless steel and 25% in oak barrels, adding complexity to the palate.
