Nino Franco Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut DOCG is a dry, refreshing Prosecco that embodies the essence of the Valdobbiadene terroir. Crafted from 100% Glera grapes, this Prosecco showcases the hallmark elegance and balance that Nino Franco is renowned for. It is a versatile and sophisticated sparkling wine that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of dishes.

Vineyards

The Glera grapes used for this Brut Prosecco are sourced from selected vineyards on the steep hills of Valdobbiadene, where the mineral-rich soils and cool climate create ideal growing conditions. The combination of altitude and exposure to the maritime breezes helps maintain the freshness and vibrant acidity of the grapes, which are farmed with sustainable practices to ensure a pure expression of the terroir.

Winemaking

This Prosecco is made using the Charmat method, with the first fermentation taking place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the bright, fresh fruit character of the Glera grapes. The secondary fermentation occurs in pressurised tanks, which gives the wine its fine, persistent bubbles. The Brut style, with only 9 grams of sugar per litre, offers a crisp, dry finish that highlights the wine's refreshing acidity.

Appearance

Pale straw yellow with bright reflections and a fine, persistent mousse.

Nose

The nose is delicate yet expressive, with aromas of green apples, white peaches, and pear, complemented by subtle floral notes and a hint of citrus zest.

Palate

On the palate, this Prosecco is dry and refreshing, with a clean, crisp acidity that balances the delicate fruit flavours. Green apple, pear, and a touch of lemon zest are followed by a smooth, elegant finish with a slight mineral edge. The fine bubbles enhance the wine’s lively character, making it a versatile and enjoyable sparkling wine.

Food pairing

Nino Franco Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut pairs beautifully with a wide range of foods, from light seafood dishes such as oysters and grilled prawns to fresh salads and soft cheeses. It also complements sushi, pasta with light sauces, or can be enjoyed simply as an apéritif.

Background story

Founded in 1919 by Antonio Franco, Nino Franco is one of the most prestigious Prosecco producers from Valdobbiadene, Veneto. Over the past century, the Franco family has been dedicated to refining Prosecco’s reputation, evolving it from a simple apéritif to a wine celebrated in Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. When Primo Franco took over in the early 1980s, he shifted the winery's focus toward producing quality-driven Proseccos, embracing single-vineyard cuvées and more sustainable practices. His work redefined what Prosecco could achieve, turning it into a wine that rivals the finest sparkling wines.

Nino Franco’s wines reflect the unique terroir of Valdobbiadene, with its steep hillsides and mineral-rich soils contributing to their freshness and complexity. Consistently praised by critics such as Robert Parker, Antonio Galloni, and Tom Stevenson, Nino Franco has also won more Gold Medals at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships than any other Prosecco producer. Their philosophy is simple: “great Prosecco starts with great wine.” By combining time-honoured traditions with modern innovation, Nino Franco consistently delivers wines that showcase the depth and diversity of the region, standing out on the global stage.
