Vineyards
Champagne Duménil Réserve 22 is sourced from Premier Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, known for their chalky soils and ideal conditions for crafting elegant and expressive Champagnes. The vineyards are managed sustainably, with a commitment to preserving the health of the land and promoting biodiversity.
Winemaking
This cuvée is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier, showcasing the unique expression of the Montagne de Reims terroir. Primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness, followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle. Aged for over three years sur lie, the wine gains complexity and depth. The dosage is carefully balanced to enhance the wine’s natural character.
Appearance
Pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles.
Nose
Aromas of crisp green apple, lemon zest, and white peach are complemented by subtle notes of brioche, almond, and delicate floral hints.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is lively and precise, with flavours of citrus, ripe pear, and stone fruits. A creamy mousse balances refreshing acidity, while a chalky minerality lends depth. The finish is long and refined, with lingering notes of toasted hazelnut and a touch of salinity.
Food pairing
Perfect as an apéritif or paired with oysters, smoked salmon, or lightly seared scallops. Its balanced acidity and creamy texture also make it an excellent match for poultry dishes and soft cheeses.
