Vineyards
Victoria is crafted from Barcolobo’s biodynamic vineyards within the Riberas de Castronuño – Vega del Duero Nature Reserve. Located at 705 meters above sea level, the vineyards benefit from a continental climate with intense summers that encourage deep concentration in the grapes. Grown in sandy loam soils with pebble-strewn surfaces, the vines have minimal organic matter, which further enhances fruit quality. The 2016 vintage, marked by a long, dry summer, led to an early October harvest. Grapes were hand-picked at dawn in small 15-kilogram boxes to ensure optimal freshness.
Winemaking
Post-harvest, the grapes were transferred to cold storage to prevent oxidation and preserve aromatic integrity. After selection, the grapes underwent malolactic fermentation, then aged for 12 months in medium-toast French oak barrels. Throughout the aging process, regular rackings refined the wine, enhancing its structure and allowing for a balanced integration of oak.
