Vineyards
Clos de la Cure spans 7 hectares across two key areas in Saint-Émilion: Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes and Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse. The vineyards sit on a blend of gravel and clay soils over limestone, which they share with prestigious neighbours like Château Cheval Blanc. This soil composition contributes a mineral backbone and enhances the wine’s tannin structure. With vine age averaging around 30 years, the vineyard is managed with ecological practices, reflecting the estate’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Clos de la Cure is certified High Environmental Value (HVE), an advanced sustainability recognition in Bordeaux.
Winemaking
The 2019 vintage, dominated by Merlot (75%) with Cabernet Franc (25%), is crafted primarily from free-run juice. It undergoes vinification in concrete tanks with traditional punch-downs, followed by an extended maceration period for added depth. The wine is aged 12-15 months in French oak barrels, of which 40-50% are new, allowing the wine to develop a refined complexity without overshadowing its fruit character.
