Origin and production
Exprè is an Italian espresso liqueur made from selected Arabica coffee. The beans are infused and distilled to capture the fragrance of freshly brewed coffee alongside the darker, roasted tones of a proper espresso.
Traditional botanical stills are operated by hand in small batches, and no artificial aromas, colourings or additives are used. At 28% ABV, the liqueur has enough intensity to retain its coffee character whether served neat or mixed.
Tasting notes
Appearance
Deep coffee brown with mahogany reflections and a glossy, almost opaque core.
Nose
Immediate aromas of espresso crema and freshly ground coffee are layered with cocoa nib, toasted hazelnut and a hint of dark caramel.
Palate
Robust yet polished, with concentrated Arabica coffee balanced by measured sweetness. Bitter chocolate and roasted nut flavours add depth, while a gently warming spirit note carries the clean espresso finish.
Serving suggestions
Pour neat, lightly chilled or over ice after dinner, or use it to give an Espresso Martini a particularly authentic coffee backbone. A small measure over vanilla gelato makes an indulgent affogato, while tiramisu or chocolate tart brings out its roasted depth.
Background story
Exprè belongs to Tosolini's Spezieria range, which applies the family's distilling experience to natural infusions and traditional Italian liqueurs. Its name captures the directness and energy of espresso culture in a compact, unmistakably Italian form.
The choice of Arabica and the absence of artificial flavouring set the tone: this is a coffee liqueur led by the bean itself. That clarity reflects the standards established by Bepi Tosolini after founding the Friulian distillery in 1943.
