Background story
Baron de Sigognac is one of the most historic Armagnac houses in Gascony, with the Guasch family’s roots in the region dating back to the 12th century. Located on 42 hectares of prime Bas-Armagnac terroir near Eauze, the estate has been dedicated exclusively to Armagnac production since 1980. They cultivate Baco and Ugni Blanc grapes, perfectly suited to the sandy soils and unique microclimate of the area.
The distillation process is carried out using a rare copper alembic still from 1921. The freshly distilled eau-de-vie is aged in French oak barrels and stored in medieval cellars, creating Armagnacs of remarkable depth and character. Baron de Sigognac’s vintages, with bottlings dating back to 1830, are highly prized for their quality and authenticity, offering a true reflection of Gascony’s winemaking heritage.
