Key production details
Distilled in 1982 at Château de Bordeneuve, this vintage Armagnac was crafted using a traditional copper alembic still and aged in French oak barrels for over four decades. The estate’s medieval cellars, with their beaten earth floors, create the ideal environment for the slow aging process, resulting in a spirit with exceptional depth and balance. Baron de Sigognac’s dedication to time-honoured methods ensures that each vintage maintains the purity and character of the Bas-Armagnac terroir.

Background story
Baron de Sigognac is one of the most prestigious and historic Armagnac producers in Gascony. The Guasch family, whose presence in the region dates back to the 12th century, has been producing exceptional Armagnacs at Château de Bordeneuve for generations. The estate, situated on 42 hectares of prime Bas-Armagnac terroir near Eauze, has been dedicated exclusively to Armagnac production since 1980.
The vineyard cultivates traditional grape varieties—Baco and Ugni Blanc—that are perfectly suited to the region’s tawny-sandy soils and favourable microclimate. The distillation process is carried out using a rare copper alembic still from 1921, and each vintage is aged in hand-crafted French oak barrels. Baron de Sigognac’s extensive collection includes vintages dating back to 1830, offering a unique glimpse into the region’s winemaking heritage.
