Key production details
Distilled in 1993 at Château de Bordeneuve using a traditional copper alembic still, this vintage Armagnac was aged for nearly 30 years in hand-crafted French oak barrels. The estate’s ancient cellars, with beaten earth floors and a naturally regulated microclimate, provide optimal conditions for slow maturation, resulting in a spirit with remarkable depth and character.
Serving suggestions
Serve neat in a tulip-shaped glass to fully appreciate its rich bouquet and complex palate. This vintage pairs beautifully with dark chocolate desserts, spiced fruit tarts, or artisanal cheeses, and is an excellent choice for enjoying with a fine cigar.
Background story
Baron de Sigognac is one of the most historic Armagnac houses in Gascony, with the Guasch family’s roots in the region dating back to the 12th century. Located on 42 hectares of prime Bas-Armagnac terroir near Eauze, the estate has been dedicated exclusively to Armagnac production since 1980. The family cultivates traditional grape varieties—Baco and Ugni Blanc—which thrive in the region’s tawny-sandy soils and unique microclimate.
Distillation is performed using a rare copper alembic still dating back to 1921. Each vintage is aged in French oak barrels and bottled only when it reaches peak maturity, ensuring every release is a true reflection of its year of distillation. Baron de Sigognac’s vintage collection includes bottlings dating back to 1830, offering a legacy of craftsmanship and heritage highly prized by collectors and connoisseurs.
