Key production details
Distilled in 1967 by Maison Delord using traditional methods, this vintage Armagnac was crafted in a copper alembic still, ensuring maximum aromatic complexity. The spirit was aged for over 50 years in French oak barrels, stored in Delord’s ancient cellars in Lannepax. The slow aging process allows the Armagnac to develop its signature depth, balance, and elegance.
Serving suggestions
Best enjoyed neat in a tulip-shaped glass to fully appreciate its complex aromas. This vintage pairs beautifully with rich desserts such as tarte Tatin or dark chocolate fondant and is also an excellent companion to fine cigars.
Background story
Maison Delord, founded in 1893 by Prosper Delord, is one of the most respected producers in the Bas-Armagnac region. Situated in Lannepax, Gascony, the estate remains family-owned, with the fourth generation continuing to produce exceptional Armagnacs using traditional methods. Delord is known for its meticulous attention to detail, from hand-harvesting the grapes to using historic copper stills, including one dating back to 1900.
The estate exclusively cultivates traditional Armagnac grape varieties, including Baco, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche, which thrive in the region’s tawny-sandy soils and unique microclimate. Their extensive collection of vintage Armagnacs, some dating back to the early 20th century, is a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and heritage.
