Key Ingredients
Distilled exclusively from the pomace of Merlot grapes harvested in the Friuli region of north-eastern Italy. The pomace is distilled within 48 hours of pressing to preserve its bright and fragrant character. The grappa is produced using artisanal steam stills designed by Bepi Tosolini himself, ensuring a clear and limpid distillate. The spirit is then aged in ash barrels, a method pioneered by Tosolini to achieve a smoother taste without the heavy tannins released by traditional oak barrels. The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 40%.
Serving Suggestions
Best enjoyed neat at a temperature between 16°C and 18°C in a classic tulip glass to fully appreciate its aromatic nuances. It serves as an excellent digestif and pairs well with light desserts or fresh fruit.
Background Story
Established after World War II, the Bepi Tosolini distillery has been a pioneer in elevating grappa from a rustic spirit to a refined digestif. Bepi Tosolini dedicated himself to perfecting the art of grappa production, becoming the first to obtain a clear, limpid distillate through an innovative ageing process in ash barrels. Located at the foot of the eastern Friulian hills, the distillery maintains its original installations, ensuring the authenticity of its products. Now in its third generation, the Tosolini family continues to uphold the legacy of its founder, producing high-quality spirits that reflect the rich heritage of Italian distillation.
