Vineyards
The Chenin Blanc grapes for this wine are sourced from vineyards situated on the higher plateaus of the Vouvray appellation. These sites benefit from a temperate climate and limestone-rich soils, which contribute to the wine's minerality and freshness. The vineyards are managed with sustainable practices to maintain the health of the vines and the surrounding ecosystem.
Winemaking
Grapes are harvested during the early daylight hours, before the sun has time to heat up the vines; this is essential in order to keep the bright, fresh character that one looks for in a just off-dry Vouvray. The wine is kept on fine lees in cool cellars that are hollowed into the chalky rock strata, thus optimising both freshness and complexity.
Appearance
Pale straw yellow with greenish highlights, indicating its youth and vibrancy.
Nose
Delicate notes of witch hazel and bergamot on the nose, backed up by crisp flavours of fresh hazelnuts and quince.
Palate
The purity and freshness of flavour is key to this wine as is the balance between the natural acidity and natural sugar. Delicate notes of witch hazel and bergamot on the nose, backed up by crisp flavours of fresh hazelnuts and quince.
Food Pairing
A streak of minerality which runs through the finish matches the wine seamlessly to creamy chicken dishes, gently spicy Asian cuisines or a crisp mixed salad.
