Appearance
Deep ruby with garnet tinges, reflecting both maturity and vibrancy, indicative of its concentration and complexity.
Nose
Intensely aromatic, the nose reveals layers of blackcurrant, baked plum, and blackberry, complemented by nuances of smoked meats, leather, and cigar box. Subtle hints of liquorice, cocoa, and dusty earth add further depth, showcasing the classic character of Saint-Estèphe.
Palate
Full-bodied and richly textured, the palate presents ripe dark fruits, balanced by firm, well-integrated tannins. Cassis and black cherry notes are underpinned by earthy minerality, leading to a lengthy, complex finish with a touch of spice and a hint of crushed stone. The structure and fine-grained tannins suggest an exceptional ageing potential, likely to endure well into the 2040s.
Food pairing
A superb match for aged ribeye, lamb, or game dishes, which complement the wine’s robust structure and depth.
