Vineyards
The Coddington vineyard, located in the Kumeu winegrowing region near Auckland, New Zealand, is one of the warmest sites managed by Kumeu River. Its clay-rich soils and north-facing slopes provide optimal conditions for ripening Chardonnay. The 2008 vintage benefited from a warm growing season, producing fruit with excellent concentration and balance.
Winemaking
The grapes were hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed to ensure delicate juice extraction. Fermentation occurred in French oak barrels using wild yeasts, enhancing complexity and texture. The wine was aged on its lees for 11 months with regular stirring, imparting depth and richness.

Pale gold with a hint of green.

Medium-bodied with a creamy texture, this Chardonnay displays flavours of white peach, lemon curd, and toasted almond. A vibrant acidity balances the richness, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish.
